The link to the online application below is only required if the student’s permanent address is outside the Shepherd School District. An email address is required for the parent/guardian to verify their signature to complete the application process. 

Once the application is completed, a confirmation email will be sent to the parent/guardian. The parent/ guardian will need to click "confirm my signature". 

After the signature confirmation, the application will be emailed to the district directly.

The 1st window will be open from May 15, 2024, with a deadline of 4:00 p.m. on June 13, 2024. (Applications will not be accepted after 4:00 pm.)
*Acceptance letters will be mailed no later than fifteen days after the deadline. 

The enrollment date must be no later than the end of the first week of school, August 23, 2024.

2nd Window Dates
The second window for any unfilled seats will open on August 2, 2024, with a deadline of 4:00 p.m. on August 16, 2024.
Acceptance will be mailed by August 20, 2024. (Applications will not be accepted after 4:00 pm.)

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE:
If the number of applications does not exceed the number of positions available, the district must accept all eligible applicants. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of positions available, the district must accept eligible applicants in the following order. 

  • Students who reside in the same household as students enrolled under section 105 or 105c in the immediately preceding school year,

    semester, or trimester.

  • Other students selected according to a random draw system, which must also be used to establish a waiting list.

Please Note:

Children who enroll with an address located on the west side of Isabella Rd, will attend Winn Elementary.  Children who enroll with an address located on the east side of Isabella Rd, will attend Shepherd Elementary. When applying for a school of choice seat, you are applying to attend Shepherd Public Schools. Your child will be assigned to the building dictated by your address. 

Two forms of proof of residency, showing one of the parent's name and address, are required at the time of enrollment: 

Michigan ID or Voter registration card

Mortgage, lease or rental agreement

Utility bill such as consumers or water

Property tax bill
