COVID-19 Guidlines

January 4th, 2022

Shepherd Community:

With the newest guidelines regarding COVID-19 that have been put out by the CDC, many questions and concerns have been expressed. As stated in the new guidelines, these are for the general population only. These guidelines also do not supersede any state, local, tribal or territorial laws, rules and regulations.

New guidelines have not been updated for the K-12 schools. With that in mind, Shepherd Public Schools is not making any changes to their quarantine period or masking policy at this time. We will continue to monitor the guidelines and changes from the CDC and health department.

Attached is a copy of the Back-to-School plan Back to School Plan 2021-22, Revised 10/19/2021 for reference along with the symptoms of COVID-19 chart. In the case of your child becoming ill, a doctor’s note may be required in order for your child to return to school depending on the symptoms and situation. Another alternative would be to have a negative covid test, in place of a doctor’s note, should one be asked for.  These guidelines or requirements are the same as ANY other “communicable disease” requirements our schools have imposed over the years.

Please feel free to contact the school if you have any unanswered questions.
