Dear Shepherd Public Schools Staff and Families,

As we are all well aware by now, COVID-19 positive cases have reached a level this week we have not seen before.

Due to the high number of cases in our staff specifically, for the week of October 18 through 22, Shepherd Middle School and Shepherd High School will be closed to in-person learning Monday, October 18 and Tuesday, October 19.  Teachers feeling well enough will be expected to follow expectations established by their buildings regarding “distance learning.”  Students will be expected to continue their learning from home for these two days.

We as a district wish this weren’t the case.  It will be our goal to preserve as best we can the in-person learning environment for as many Shepherd Public Schools students as possible.  Since distance learning can be very difficult for our elementary students and childcare is challenging for families we are making every effort possible to keep Shepherd Elementary and Winn Elementary open to in-person learning.

Our hope is staff and students can get healthy and we can return to in-person learning for all students.
