Posting for Interim Superintendent
The Shepherd Public Schools Board of Education is seeking a qualified Superintendent of Schools to lead the District, as Interim Superintendent, for the 2020/21 school year.
The Shepherd Public Schools district is located in the Village of Shepherd in southern Isabella County in Michigan. The school district is a rural/agricultural community, covers approximately 112 square miles and has a minority population of almost 8%. Most students are transported to school on one of the district's 29 buses. The district is classified as Class B and has an approximate total enrollment of 1,800 students and about 115 certified staff.
The district is about sixty miles north of Lansing and about five miles south of Mt. Pleasant, home of Central Michigan University and Mid-Michigan Community College. The Shepherd Board of Education is accepting letters of interest which must be submitted no later than 4:00 pm on July 27, 2020. The Board would appreciate a resume providing background information and experience as a school administrator. The negotiated salary and benefits package will be commensurate with the chosen candidate’s experience and qualifications and either full or part time service. If requested by the candidate, materials will be treated confidentially through the screening process. Candidate names will become public at the time an interview is scheduled.
The interim position is anticipated to be for the 2020/2021 school year. The Board would like the starting date to be August 3, 2020 or as soon as possible.
