The varsity baseball team took two games from Freeland Tuesday night. They won the first game by a score of 2-1 and the second game 5-4 in eight innings. Their overall record is now 12-8 with a 4-2 record in the TVC. They resume action Thursday when Beal City comes to town.

The Shepherd boys 4x400 relay team of Ross McNeel, Dane Nestle, Ben Moeggenberg, and Dylan Fisher ran an an amazing time of 3:28.34 last night at the home Bluejay Invite to break the 49 year old record of 3:29.6. The previous record was set in 1970 by a team of Rick Bunker, Lon Bohannon, Mickey Feltman and Doug White.
Due to unplayable conditions, the Shepherd Golf outing scheduled for tomorrow at Maple Creek has been rescheduled until May 19 @ 1pm. Coach Willett and Coach Halliwill send their sincerest apologies.
The Shepherd High School Band performed beautifully today at the MSBOA state band festival @ Bay City Centrl HS. Mrs. Gross and the HS Band were IMPRESSIVE! SHS had an excellent presentation this afternoon. The Community Mental Health for Central Michigan provided our students with an opportunity to hear suicide prevention and mental health awareness speaker, Will Heininger. If you are unfamiliar with Will, he is a former University of Michigan student and football player who discovered, during his time at U of M, that he was suffering from depression. He was able to get the help he needed and compete all fours years on the football team, thanks to the support of his family, counselors and coaching staff. Will has since returned to his alma mater as a Program Coordinator in their Depression Center.
Girls soccer lost a tough match to Alma on Monday night to Alma by a score of 7-1. The goal being scored by Kiersten Judge. Next game is at home on Wednesday against Ithaca at 6pm in the stadium.

The varsity golf team had a good night with three PRs and a team 162. Max Skeel shot an impressive 4-under-par 31 to stretch his individual conference lead. Zach Bendele shot a 40, Spencer Myers a PR 45, and Owen Morey a PR 46. This stretches the conference lead to 22 strokes.

The girls soccer team put up a good fight against Hemlock last night and went into halftime trailing by a score of 2-1. The Lady Jays couldn't find the goal the remainder of the match and ended up on the short end of 7-1 score. Kiersten Judge was the lone scorer for the Jays.

The boys and girls track teams were victorious at Ithaca Wed night. Runners of the Meet were Sawyer Travis for a huge long jump PR of 17' 9.5" and great times in the 100, 200, and 4x400, and Riley Hohlbein for a new high jump PR of 4'4", and also great 100, 200, and 4x400 times!

The boys golf team had a good opening of TVC competition, shooting a 171 for 1st place by 9 strokes at the 6-team meet. Players who scored were Max Skeel with an even-par 36, Zach Bendele 41, Korrbin Gluch 46, and a PR 48 from Owen Morey.
The varsity baseball team rebounded tonight in Frankenmuth with a 18 to 6 win in game 1 and a 4 to 3 win in game 2. The Bluejays are back in action Saturday vs. Mt. Pleasant for a doubleheader against the Oilers.
A great first meet of the outdoor season! Boys finished 1st and girls 2nd and there were several great performances across the board! Athlete's of the meet were Brody Noreen for setting personal bests in the Shot & Disc and Elizabeth Moeggenberg for running 2 great relay legs and running in the 48s for the 300 Hurdles!
