This is Iris, our black labrador retriever. She is our social emotional therapy dog. Mrs. Catrell, our librarian, went to visit her this weekend. Iris cannot wait to meet everyone when she arrives in early April. She is also proud to be a Bluejay!ūüźĺ

Shepherd Elementary 5th graders are taking orders for Texas Roadhouse gift cards to support their trip to camp next year.  They come in $25 increments.  Cards can be used at any Texas Roadhouse and do not expire.  Orders are being taken until December 6th with delivery before Christmas.  Orders can be placed through any 5th grader or the elementary office.

Shepherd Elementary would like to give a big Bluejay welcome to our new 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Kayleigh Schlosser (Ms. S). Ms. Schlosser is taking the place of Mrs. Holder (Martin), who resigned from her position earlier this week. Ms. Schlosser has her classroom all set up and is ready to meet all of her students Monday morning!

Mail will be coming soon!! Letters informing students of their classroom teacher for the 2019-20 school year will be sent in the mail next Friday, August 9th. A separate letter will be sent home, later in the month, with information regarding bus routes and times. This is an exciting times to be a Bluejay!

Shepherd Elementary is excited to welcome Lynette Lentovich as our newest member of our Bluejay family, as Assistant Principal. Mrs. Lentovich comes to us from the Farwell Area School District, where she was a secondary teacher and Program Director of Early College. Mrs. Lentovich is married and has two children. Her husband Tyler is the art teacher at Shepherd High/Middle School and her daughters Lake (3) and Oakley (2) will be future Bluejays. Her energy and desire to build connections with our students, staff and community makes Mrs. Lentovich and outstanding addition to our school.

Texas Roadhouse is sponsoring Battle of the Schools.  Eat at Texas Roadhouse on April 10th, 4-10 pm, and Texas Roadhouse will donate 10% of your purchase to Shepherd Elementary.  If we raise the most money, each of our teachers will win a free meal!
